Αυτοάνοσα-διατροφή are chili peppers a bad idea? They're a nightshade vegetable but I heard that they can lower inflammation. I love spicy peppers and heat but will give them up if it helps my arthritis.

Αυτοάνοσα-διατροφή thank you for clarifying. I will stay away from chili peppers in that case. The diet is helping even though I want some of my old favorite foods it is worth avoiding them because I'm having less pain which is amazing. I'm more mobile now tham before.
The worst part is not having coffee. I love coffee and occasionally used to enjoy dark chocolate. My head hurts not having coffee and I miss the mental boost it would give me. I'm thinking of trying to have some as an experiment. Could coffee maybe be ok for some people with psoriatic arthritis but not others? Or do you definitely think it has to be avoided? Thanks again.
Αυτοάνοσα-διατροφή also I heard walnuts and almonds are anti-inflammatory. Do all nuts need to be avoided or are walnuts and almonds ok? Thanks.
Αυτοάνοσα-διατροφή I'm sorry for asking so many questions but I can't find any information about backweed when I search online. Do you mean buckwheat?
Also, is oatmeal ok?
Are all legumes and beans really bad? I heard others say beans are ok but I am trying to follow your advice because it is working. I even went for a bike ride today, which was not possible before. Thanks.
Yes diet is very powerfool and reversed my Psoriatic arthritis !!
I drink some coffee and i eat some chocolate though . Legumes, grains, dairy products nuts and oils are the big danger . I eat them rarely as red meat . Οats are not ok . Yes i mean buckweed .
AIP is a good diet, with grainlike seeds in it and with many raw fruits and vegies i have posted it here : ''Η διατροφή για αυτοάνοσα νοσήματα A.I.P. ( Autoimmune Protocol )''.

Αυτοάνοσα-διατροφή thank you, I'm very hungry. All of my old favorite foods at the store and restaurants are off limits now, but at least I can walk. I'm worried about my weight loss though. I'm 6'2 and used to weigh 200lbs with low body fat. I'm down to 185 now but at least I can walk. Thanks
Why are you hungry ? We have plenty of foods to eat inclouding fish, chichen and red meat( not often ) ! Sprout dehydrated buckweed with dates, linseed and a little cocoa is grate for a sweet breakfast ! Try it if you want .

Αυτοάνοσα-διατροφή on Thursdays, the day I wrote that, I do a job which is very physical and involves a lot of driving. I usually eat prepared foods from a grocery store on this day but as I checked all of the ingredients of foods I used to eat there, almost everything was off limits. I used to really a vegetable soup there but it contains tomato.
It's ok, I can prepare my own food. I didn't make anything that day and thought I would be able to find something to eat there and I couldn't. Doing the physical work had also made me very hungry.
I was looking for something I could eat and not finding anything and there was an old man next to me who had ice cream, cookies, mashed potatoes, and turkey and gravy and I was jealous because I was hungry and used to love those foods.
I researched AIP and came across this article. I'm curious as to your opinion on it. It's a little different than your recommendations. The author has a long list of foods that are off limits, but strangely, lard and bacon grease are acceptable foods in their list.
I would love to know your thoughts on the list if you have time. Thanks

Αυτοάνοσα-διατροφή I must be doing something wrong. I can't get out of bed for the last few days without nsaids. Last night I had stomach pain and I'm worried it's because of those pills.
I have an appointment tomorrow with a new doctor. I hope we can find a solution.
I used to be very physically active, lifting weights, running, cycling, martial arts. Now I'm stuck in bed. I'm concerned because it's affecting my ability to earn money. I'm desperate.
NSAIDS are damaging the gout and make our desease worse .Thousands of patients are dying every year from these !
Only DMARDS and biologics realy help but there are big risks for having lemphoma, hurt problems and death from pulmonary edema in the biologics .
NSAIDS are acids that make halls in stomach and gout ! Try to take paraketamol and courcoumin instead if possible and eat for 2 weeks only raw salads without oil and you will see amazing resaults as i and many others did !
Never give up !
What country are you from ?

Αυτοάνοσα-διατροφή thank you, I'm in the US. The new doctor ordered many blood tests for me after listening to all of my symptoms. I will meet with him again in a week after the results come back at which time he'll refer me to a rheumatologist.
In the meantime, he prescribed meloxicam for inflammation and omneprazole to protect my gut.
Thanks again for the advice. I will research this and talk to my doctor about it next week.
You re welcome .
I have 3 first cosins in Reno-Nevada .
The information for NSAIDS DMARDS and Biologics are from my reymatologist .
Keep fighting
Αυτοάνοσα-διατροφή Today's been a good day. I have far less pain walking around quite a bit and I didn't even take my medicine. I want to give my stomach and liver a chance to heal whenever possible.
Oh great ! Leafy greens without oil are the best for gout healing .
The power is in our hands .
How many years do you have PSA ; I have it for 1 year and 2 months .
Αυτοάνοσα-διατροφή The first episode was November 2015. I felt a little sick for a few weeks and one night my whole body's joints became inflamed and painful over the course of an hour or 2. It got so bad it was painful to even open a water bottle and getting out of bed was basically impossible.
After a week, my old coach helped me get into a wheelchair and got me to a doctor. The doctor thought I had psoriatic arthritis and gave me injections of 2 different kinds of corticosteroids (one was fast acting short term, the other was long lasting) and a prescription for prednisone, meloxicam, naproxen, and omneprazole.
I immediately started to feel better and within 3-4 weeks felt completely like my old self and was lifting weights and training ma again. I did not worry about my diet either and was ok.
The doctor wanted to run additional blood tests to confirm what was going on, but the earlier tests, treatment, and medicine was already costing thousands of dollars and the additional treatment was going to cost thousands more that I couldn't afford.
I felt healthy and naively believed I had been cured even though he warned it could happen again. In my mind I thought if it happened again I would just buy a corticosteroid shot and some prednisone and be ok.
I was ok for over a year until late January of 2017 I felt sick again. My arthritis cane back slowly this time, steadily getting worse each week and only affecting my knees, feet, and ankles.
I stupidly did not have my health insurance in order still. I explained what had happened and asked for the corticosteroids shot and prednisone, along with antibiotics (which I usually never take) for a sore throat. He gave me all 3 (but only one corticosteroid shot, dexamethasone) and cautioned me to get blood work to find out what was going on when I got my health insurance.
I was dumb again and thought with another shot I would have another year. I was being stupid. I was ok again until June I had a 3rd episode. I started to feel sick and then had the worst migraine of my life which lasted for a week. I couldn't get out of bed because of the migraine. I also had spots on my legs and rashes on my elbows. After the migraine went away, the arthritis and rash came back into my knees, feet, and ankles again.
I went to the hospital June 30th and they gave dexamethasone (I think but I'm not sure) and another prescription for prednisone. I was ok for a week until the prednisone ran out and then immediately my arthritis came back.
I had health insurance finally and was ready to schedule a doctor's appointment but my girlfriend works in healthcare and said my current network is not very good and to change it, which took an additional 2 weeks during which time I was surviving by following your diet advice.
I finally saw my new doctor June 17th and he was excellent. We are doing the blood work to confirm for sure I have psoriatic arthritis and don't have any other issues. Last night I felt good and lifted some very light weights.
I feel even better today and might lift again. Sorry for writing such a long response, but that's my whole story up until now. I definitely could have handled this better but at least I'm taking the proper steps now and your diet has helped me enough that I don't even need my meds for 2 days now.
Fritz you have sufered a lot ! I am very happy you started the autoimmune diet and that you feel better . From now on, you will get better and better and you will know what to do if a flare up comes on . In difficult situations, we bo back to the base line foods : raw salads withut oil, fruits, sweet potato, grainlikeseeds .
Keep on the good work my friend . When the gout heals, then we eat a little fish and chicken . Eggs once in a month or so . I haven t taken any meds till now ! Just diet .
Test your vitamin D emidiatly . If you are deficient, then you must 1) go out to the sun light systematicaly and 2) take D3 pills . Vitamin D is very important for the immune system . I am deficient in vitamin D so i started going out to the sun and taking every day pills 1000iu . Now, my doc prescribed me ''oral sol 25000 iu'' for 2 times in a month because my D dosen t wrise up a lot .
Antibiotic pills damage the gout also so try to avoid them unless is necesary . Try to exersise every day without damaging your joints .
In two weeks you will be a lot better than this my friend Fritz .

Αυτοάνοσα-διατροφή Thanks a lot Steven. This is day 4 without medication and I feel perfectly healthy. I can run and jump now without pain.
One thing I've been craving is an ice cream cone. It's been a hot summer and I imagine that soft, sweet ice cream, maybe rocky road or mint chocolate chip, cookies and cream is good too.
But then I think about afterwards when I finish and imagine my feet, ankles and knees swelling up and the pain coming back and I'm too scared to eat it....
Do you ever have a cheat meal and eat something you shouldn't? Is it always a bad idea? I don't want to lose my good health I have now. Physically I can do everything I used to again. I'm afraid to mess it up with something dumb like dessert.
I m glad you live without pain my friend Fritz !
Ice cream agrivates RA and PSA .
In the start, i was very strict us i was taught, because we must allow our gout to heal . I ate raw salads without oil + olives and sweet potatoes . After a while i ate a little fish and eggs . 2-3 months later, i added more fish and chichen, nightshade vegies and a little dairy products . When the inflamation comes back, i go back too...

Αυτοάνοσα-διατροφή I am doing well, thank you my friend. I'm not taking
any medication at all and I didn't get a corticosteroid shot this time.
The doctor was planning to give me a steroid shot, but I told him about
the diet and that it was working so I skipped it.
I followed the diet very closely for a couple weeks and then I started
trying new things. The only thing I still avoid is gluten. I tried a
small amount last week and didn't feel good afterwards. Everything else
I'm eating again but in moderation.
Thanks again for your advice. It made a huge difference. I was really
feeling hopeless thinking I would have to take medication with terrible
side effects and this is an effective natural remedy.
How have you been? Are you having a good summer?
Thanks ☺
I am very happy for your progress my friend Fritz ! I am fine too . Summer in Greece is realy hot, but i enloy it . My self i am getting better and better every day with the diet ! The only thing that i m woried about is my right knee that has a little fluid in it . My reumetologist says that it is very little and i dont need a steroid shot . I am walking and running, but i am skeptical, because the fluid is damaging the knee . Glouten is our biggest enemy . Dont forget to avoid legumes . Dairy - small amounts . Be very carefull with stress and overactivity !!! Now that you see clearly that the diet is medicine, spread it to help other patients . The power is in our hands dear Fritz .
nightsade vegetables, legumes, grains, nuts, sugar, dairy, cheese and coffee . I mostly eat raw fruits and vegetables(whithout oil) , backweed( sprouted and hidrated ), kinoa, dates, olives, sweet potatoes , a little brown rise and once in a while i eat fresh fish, chichen, oil, cheese and eggs . Meat only once in a month . Now, i have zero psoriasis and almost zero pain ! With this diet, i ve lost a lot of weight too ! Remember RAW, not cooked vegetables and a nery low fat diet in general . Leafy greens are the best for PSA . Give it a try for one month and you will see amazing resaults ! I did it and i am pretty well although i dont take Methotrexate or any other DMARD or Biologic medecin ! When get of the diet, then the symptoms come back instantly ! The 75% of our immune system is in the gut . So we must be veeeery carefool with what we put in our mouth ! NSAIDS pills are damaging the gut, so NSAID ingections are better . Drink many glasses of water . Exercise enery day . Important ! Check your vitamin D levels . If you find it low, you mast take vitamin D pills . Sun light also rases Vitamin D . I hope you get better soon Markos . Keep fighting .
